“My painting takes me both outside painting plein air and inside doing studio works. My interest varies from the scenic beauty I encounter in my travels to subjects that I seek out because of some personal interest in a place or the colors and shadows that I encounter. I paint for my involvement in subjects and consider each painting challenge as an educational experience and a total contact with my inner driving force of creative expression. I consider it an honor if somebody likes what I do enough to want it in their home. My style and outlook on the way I work is ever-evolving and is often dictated by the subject. Outside, I often do the looser plein air paintings and the sometimes more highly rendered pieces in the studio. Beyond the total enjoyment of being involved in the artistic process, I also prize all the wonderful artist friends who I have met along this path of artistic exploration and sharing. Not only is this part a wonderful gift but an inspirational and educational stimulus as well.”
